CFTC Whistleblower Program

The CFTC Whistleblower Program was created by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act in 2010 following a major financial crisis. Dodd Frank is intended to prevent the events that lead to the 2008 financial break down which had devastating effects on our economy. The CFTC Whistleblower Program is able to pay monetary awards to whistleblowers that provide the CFTC with information on violations of the Commodities Exchange Act. This program also provided anti-retaliation protections for those individuals who come forward to help combat fraud. Whistleblower awards can range anywhere from 10% to 30% of the monetary sanctions collected in a whistleblower action.
